New circle time handbook set to enliven the Golden Rules storybook series
From August 2005, a new handbook will be available to help teachers to use the Positive Press Golden Rules storybooks. The “Handbook for the Golden Rules Stories”, by Luck, Doyle and Grogan (2005) helps children with social, emotional and behavioural skills. For each of the six golden rules there are games, photocopiables, circle time lessons and engaging stories to really bring the rules to life. The Golden Rules storybooks series (by Luck and Doyle), from Positive Press, are an enchanting way to help children understand the golden rules. Each book, available in both individual and large A3 format, focuses upon a single golden rule. The Golden Rules, like being gentle, listening, being kind and helpful, looking after property and being honest, promote positive behaviour and a shared school ethos. It is not always easy to illustrate these values to children in a meaningful way but these bright, bold and engaging storybooks are full of appealing animal characters in all sorts of scrapes and situations!Anyone interested in purchasing a copy of these and other titles can shop on-line on Jenny Mosley’s website http://www.circle-time.co.uk or telephone 01225 767157.
