Quite simply this is one of our most successful lunchtime strategies. Children love learning a new craze. Crazes last about a week so all you need to do is get lots of the same equipment, put it into one box and bring it out that week with the craze card which you can photocopy. Each card is written specifically for the children to read so they can be given directly to them. Some of the crazes are for the quiet area e.g. cat’s cradle, marbles. Some of the crazes are for the zoned craze area e.g. Yoyos, French skipping, hula hoops… There are a host of ideas too numerous to mention here.
