The 5 Skills Sticker Book – Tiny, Achievable, Tickable Targets for Children who need to practice their Five Skills. These are ideal for ALL children and especially for children who may be high on the ‘chaotic spectrum’, constantly get into trouble, or just drift off into their own space – these children need to practice their skills for short periods of time. For ‘Children Beyond’ the usual motivational systems, set up an approach that helps them to succeed; as many of them are addicted to failure. Simply agree the skill you want them to practice. Then agree the time limit (either one, three or five minutes to start off with), place the appropriate sand timer beside them, and, if they succeed on staying on target, then they get a sticker placed in a box in their sticker book. Once a page (six stickers) is built up you can either devise a system that you text the parents’ mobile or any other way of reaching the parents, or you can put a special sticker on to the Class Target Sheet which means that, once the class target is filled up the whole class gets a treat. This resource accompanies Jenny Mosley’s Small Books of The 5 Skills. Each book contains superb games and activities to promote each of the Five Skills. Every single activity has a follow-up one (“… now try this”), which really embeds the skill they have just learnt.
