If you’ve never caught a rabbit you ain’t no friend of mine!

Wed, May 19th 2010

Any of you who have been on my training courses will know I regularly refer to life’s “ambushes”! Weeeeelll!! Finally Meg (my daughter), Zara (my website manager) and I arrive at a local hotel for a long overdue meeting about new ideas and resources for Positive Press. Briefing papers out, laptop on, mind alert – then I look out of the window (I’ve always had poor concentration!) and there

proudly trotting by is a huge ginger cat with a baby rabbit in its mouth. I never knew I could move so fast. We all leap outside flinging ourselves at the cat. Open mouthed in disbelief that humans can be so wild – the rabbit drops out and zig-zags off to a corner. Ginger Tom draws upon his lion ancestry and Gets Mad At Us!! He hisses, he cuffs us. We now try to catch the rabbit who zig-zags itself all over the lawn so that we end up on top of each other, elbows in mouths, knees in stomachs! Ouch! Ginger tom IS LIVID. He actually chases us! Finally, Ginger Tom withdraws in disgust, and me, Meg and Zara just have to have a G & T to get over the trauma. End of Positive Press meeting!
