This month (September 2010) teachers and classroom assistants from fourteen schools were treated to a highly successful emotional health and well-being seminar event at Knockavoe School in Strabane. The event focused upon health improvement and developing the emotional health and well-being of pupils through a series of techniques and activities promoting self-esteem, moral values, positivity, creativity and emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.
Jenny Mosley was pleased to lead the training day, sharing her highly successful school and classroom management model, Quality Circle Time. Western Trust Health Improvement Officer and Health Promoting School Award co-ordinator Lesley Finlay spoke about the success of the day: "The QCT model promotes a whole-school approach to enhancing self-esteem and building positivite relationships within school communities. QCT provides opportunities for children to learn how to listen, respect other people and express their emotions in a positive and constructive way."
This is what one delegate had to say about the event: "What a wonderful day we had with Jenny @ Knockavoe school, N.I. Everyone has been raving about your workshop and you've given us the inspiration we need for another school year. thanks Jenny!"
The day was hailed as a great success with very positive feedback from staff as they embraced the key elements of the model which also improves the morale and self-esteem of staff and develop listening systems for children and adults alike.
