Nottinghamshire Midday Supervisors' “Playtime” Conference
Fri, May 12th 2006
Nottinghamshire County Council Play Service, Play in Schools Association and Workforce Development, Education Service are working in partnership to host Nottinghamshire’s first ever conference for Midday supervisors. This is an exciting new venture that we hope all schools will participate in.
This event will take place on Saturday 24th June 2006 10.00 a.m. – 3.30 p.m. and will be held at Nottingham Forest Football ground. All Midday Supervisors who work in Nottinghamshire Schools will be invited to attend.
Lunchtimes and playtimes can be the most challenging times of the day for many children. After a morning in a classroom, suddenly they are mixing with children from other classes, their teachers are not there and the rules that keep everyone safe in the classroom seem a long way away. Midday supervisors carry out a very valuable role in keeping children safe, happy and occupied, but this role can be very demanding and testing. Challenging behaviour, playground upsets, wet weather, over-excited or bored children need very well-structured supervision so that they return to the classroom refreshed, happy and ready for the afternoon.
The “Playtime” conference will be a great opportunity to share ideas and good practice and learn from each other.
There will be an inspirational guest speaker from Jenny Mosley Consultancies, Helen Peter, who has received wide acclaim from Schools, the Government, key individuals and many others, both in this country and abroad.
There will be exciting workshops to participate in, opportunities for networking and free refreshments and lunch will be provided. There will also be childcare provision.
There is a charge of £10 per person and booking forms are available from Jenny Whitemore 01159 336486 or by email jenny.whitemore@nottscc.gov.uk
If you have any questions about the conference please do not hesitate in contacting Barbie Szucs on 07754899379 or 01623 634781 or email barbara.szucs@nottscc.gov.uk
