I'm just setting up circle time, is there a good pathway to follow?

Q:  We have just started using circle time at our school.  I was just enquiring whether there is a suitable pathway of activities for my class to follow? How long is too long to spend on an activity?

A:  There is a suitable pathway of actities in Quality Circle Time called the five-step model.  Sessions usually last between 30 to 40 minutes for the whole circle time. The best way forward I can recommend is to purchase one of Jenny Mosley's text books.  It will tell you all you need to know to get started and to get off on the right foot!

If you go onto Jenny's website www.circle-time.co.uk you will see books in the shop and we recommend "Quality Circle TIme in the Primary School" by Jenny Mosley.  There is plenty of other information on the website too.  Contact details are on the website (tel +44 (0)1225 767157 or email circletime@jennymosley.co.uk)

Best of luck with your circle times!
