Nuthatch Canal Boat Hire – Reviews

Chloe. September 2017
Great communication. Great location for exploring the area. Easier to manoeuvre than expected. Great for a couple as a first canal boat experience. We would say take extra pillows as the fold out bed is quite hard. Everything you need on board, shower, toilet, cooking facilities, radio, tv, DVD player (cds and dvds), games, torches. We went into Bradford on Avon, had a walk in the woods, lovely pubs, lots of places to eat, had a BBQ on the bank, the other boaters were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely time and will hire a canal boat again in the future.

This truly is a fantastic little boat, located in a fantastic area. I would recommend this for any couple looking for something different to do over a long weekend.

I hired Nuthatch for three nights on August Bank Holiday weekend with my two teenage daughters. The boat was in great condition and very clean, and we were even provided with eggs, butter, bread and apple juice. Instructions were clear and straightforward (I may not be a natural boaty though). I did a lot of online research beforehand, and you will be hard pressed to find better value for any small boat to hire anywhere in the UK. Annie and Sue could not have been better to deal with both beforehand and afterwards. If you are looking for your first small canal boat to hire, don’t look further than Nuthatch.

We enjoyed a lovely weekend on this quaint little boat. Very compact, but all the essentials were available. Travelling along the canal to Bath was very relaxing. The views and scenery were beautiful. Testing our skills at the locks was fun and we met a lot of interesting characters along the way. We did have a hiccup with power but our host (Sue and Bob) were extremely helpful and available to remedy the problem and make sure we enjoyed our trip.
