Early Years Training

Welcome to Jenny Mosley’s Early Years Training and consultancy pages. Specifically, we run conferences for many different types of setting. To list these, we include Early Years Training for Children’s Centres, pre-schools, nurseries, infant schools. Also for larger groups and affiliations of practitioners. What’s more, Jenny runs conferences for positive behaviour, circle time and honing early communication skills. Jenny additionally places a strong focus on social skills and games and activities.

“I just wanted to send an e-mail saying how fantastic my staff found your training last night. All of them said how motivated they felt and they left buzzing rather than worn out which happens during other courses they have attended. Thank you.” Amanda Park, Nursery Manager,  Here We Grow (The College Merthyr Tydfil)

Early Years Training Themes

Firstly, if you do not see which training theme you are looking for, please enquire. The list below is not exhaustive.

Early Years Training – and EYPP To Support Pupils

When thinking about Early Years Training many settings consider Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP). EYPP has been a major development for providing funding for the support of disadvantaged 3 and 4 year olds. The task is for providers to nurture young people’s budding social skills and communication competencies. Also to create a stimulating and safe environment. With regard to training, in the DfE report ‘Intervening Early’ evaluators reported that the Quality Circle Time programme:

“… can be used to enhance personal and social development and to develop a sense of self-worth… particularly for those with socialisation problems”. The report also states that QCT “..provides opportunities to tackle difficult behaviours and can provide an opportunity for shy, quiet children to find their voice”. Jenny’s model is recommended in this publication as “an effective approach primary schools can use to help pupils to get the best from school.”

Settings are now using EYPP to fund Jenny’s Early Years Training as the model helps to build emotional competencies and confidence. However, this can be most beneficial for children needing the boost most.

Early Years Training Can Be Free!

Early Years TrainingWe are always looking for host settings to hold early years open training conferences, so we can all invite other local practitioners to attend. Firstly, staff from the ‘host setting’ are trained for free. Secondly, the day is fantastic for ‘sharing the learning’, bringing together practitioners and highlighting best practice. While watching demonstrations and inspiring each other is a transformative and economical to work, local colleagues book places for very reasonable fees. Discounts apply for booking four or more places.  Please enquire about hosting an Early Years conference – 01225 76715 or circletime@jennymosley.co.uk.

Early Years Training Testimonial

Here is what one Infant School Deputy Head. teacher wrote after Early Years Training in her setting:

“Jenny’s live demonstration was an absolute “masterclass” of how to engage very young children, fresh into the Year R class, through circle time. She had every single one of the 30 Year R children completely entranced by her energy, enthusiasm and warmth; skilfully using puppets, actions, modelling, highly effective questioning promoting active participation at their level for a staggering 45 minutes. This is undoubtedly THE way to deliver the Golden Rules to Early Years children! Staff watched, mesmerised and enthralled and left the room eager to implement the strategies to children in their classes. We feel most privileged to have observed Jenny deliver a truly outstanding session that had such a marked impact on not only the teachers but also the children in our school. Many thanks!”  Jane West, Deputy Headteacher  Orchard Infant School, Dibden Purlieu 2016

Early Years Training – By Jenny Mosley

Our training days are enjoyable, vibrant and practical. Inevitably, over time, your systems, your staff and your circle Early Years Trainingtimes can become tired and need re-energising. Jenny therefore helps staff reflect upon their practice. Most notably, they can then work out new directions that they would like to go in. They can then equip themselves to succeed. During training and conferencing days, Jenny shares tips and ideas from her wealth of experience of working with practitioners and children. Rather than just talking and holding discussions, demonstrations with the children are a very popular option. Jenny’s educational model can bring social and communication skills, emotional literacy, problem-solving and creativity to life.

Learning Outcomes And Benefits of Jenny’s Early Years Training

  • Delegates will have time to reflect upon their systems and the way that they work. Also to listen and indeed to discuss.
  • Everyone in your setting will undoubtedly have the opportunity to become better speakers and listeners and therefore better genuine dialogue can thrive.
  • Everyone comes away with a host of tips and practical ideas for running successful and vibrant practices including circle times.
  • This course is great for boosting the self-esteem of delegates and raising energy which in turn can help the self-esteem of children.

Jenny’s Work With The National Day Nurseries Association – Early Years Training, Conferencing And Creating Resources

Jenny has been thrilled to be invited to speak at NDNA Conferences. Consequently, together with the NDNA, Jenny has worked on new resources for practitioners. So this includes writing the chapter on Circle Time for their book ‘Promoting Positive Behaviour’.  In addition, Jenny and the NDNA have also worked to produce a beautiful box set of Box Set which has been really well received in nurseries and pre-schools around the country as it provides a system of boundaries for early years children.

Customer Comment About Early Years Resources for Preschool

“I have just purchased and introduced The Golden Rules into my preschool room. I bought the small, hard book set, set of six posters, handbook, stickers and puppets. The children love it! Already, they know that ‘Mona Monkey listens’ and ‘Zelda Zebra is gentle’ … ” Julie Rees, Deputy Manager and SENCO, The Secret Garden Children’s Day Nursery, Gloucester

Additionally, Jenny is also delighted to have written articles for several Early Years magazines including Practical Preschool and Nursery World to name but two.
